AIR FRYER BANG BANG CHICKEN MEATBALLS

  • Author: Mark's Recipe
  • Total Time: 30 mins

Description

These air fryer chicken meatballs are packed with savory flavors and coated in a sweet and tangy bang bang sauce. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or served over rice for a quick meal. The air fryer ensures they’re crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, while the sauce adds a delightful kick.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Meatballs:

  • 1 pound ground organic chicken
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned pepper
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup crushed Ritz crackers
  • ⅓ cup teriyaki sauce
  • Spray olive oil

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup sweet chili sauce
  • ⅛ cup parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the meatball mixture:
In a large bowl, add the ground chicken and separate it with a fork. Sprinkle with garlic salt, seasoned pepper, and parsley. Mix to combine.

2️⃣ Incorporate additional ingredients:
Stir in the chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, crushed Ritz crackers, and teriyaki sauce. Mix until all ingredients are well-blended.

3️⃣ Form the meatballs:
Using your hands or a scoop, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1½ inches in diameter.

4️⃣ Cook in the air fryer:
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil. Place the meatballs in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they don’t touch. Spray the tops with olive oil.

Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook for 12 minutes.

At the 6-minute mark, turn the meatballs and spray again with olive oil.

Ensure they’re golden brown and cooked through (no pink inside). If needed, cook for an additional 4 minutes.

5️⃣ Make the bang bang sauce:
In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt and sweet chili sauce. Stir until smooth and creamy.

6️⃣ Coat the meatballs:
Once the meatballs are done, toss them in the sauce until evenly coated. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.

7️⃣ Serve and enjoy:
Serve immediately as an appetizer, over rice, or with a side salad.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a teaspoon of sriracha to the bang bang sauce.
  • These meatballs can be made ahead of time and reheated in the air fryer for 3–5 minutes at 375°F.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute Ritz crackers with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
