Ingredients
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix (dry)
- 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the seasoning mixture:
In a small bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, ranch dressing mix, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder until fully combined.
2️⃣ Coat the crackers:
Place the saltine crackers in a large resealable plastic bag or a flat, airtight container. Pour the seasoning mixture over the crackers. Seal the bag or container and gently turn it over several times, making sure all the crackers are evenly coated.
3️⃣ Let them soak:
Allow the crackers to sit at room temperature for 8–12 hours (or overnight), turning the bag or shaking the container occasionally to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.
4️⃣ Serve and enjoy:
Once the crackers have absorbed all the flavorful oil and seasoning, they’re ready to eat! Serve as-is, or enjoy them with dips like ranch dressing, cheese spreads, or guacamole.
Notes
- Spice Control: Adjust the crushed red pepper to make them milder or extra fiery.
- Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- Variations: Try using different flavored ranch packets (like spicy ranch) or adding a sprinkle of cayenne for an extra kick!
