Ingredients
For the Potstickers:
- 12–16 frozen potstickers (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon oil (for pan-frying)
For the Broth:
- 6 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced thin
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional, for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon chili paste (optional, for spice)
For the Vegetables & Garnish:
- 1 cup bok choy or spinach, chopped
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Potstickers:
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tablespoon of oil and arrange the frozen potstickers in the pan.
Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Set aside on a plate.
2️⃣ Prepare the Broth:
In a large pot, heat 1 teaspoon of sesame oil over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sliced ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in the broth and stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce (if using), and chili paste (if using).
Bring to a gentle simmer and let cook for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
3️⃣ Add the Vegetables:
Stir in chopped bok choy (or spinach) and julienned carrot.
Simmer for another 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
4️⃣ Add the Potstickers:
Carefully place the cooked potstickers into the simmering broth.
Let them heat through for 2-3 minutes.
5️⃣ Serve the Soup:
Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions.
Serve hot and enjoy this cozy, flavorful dish!
