Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 350F degrees. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Cook 1 pound of penne pasta according to the package directions until it reaches an al dente texture.
- In a medium saucepan, brown and crumble 1 pound of ground beef along with the diced ½ yellow onion. Once fully cooked, drain any excess grease and return the beef mixture to the pan.
Stir in the 24 ounce jar of your favorite pasta sauce into the beef mixture. Keep the heat on low while you wait for the pasta to finish cooking.
- Once the pasta is done, drain it thoroughly, ensuring it is as dry as possible.
- Return the drained pasta to the large pot (with the heat turned off) and add in the 16 ounce jar of garlic alfredo sauce. Mix until the pasta is evenly coated.
- Transfer the pasta mixture into the bottom of the prepared 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the pasta sauce mixture evenly over the pasta.
- Evenly sprinkle the top with 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese. Cover the dish with nonstick aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Allow to rest for about 5 minutes after taking it out of the oven. If desired, sprinkle a little dried parsley on top as a garnish.
- Serve the portions onto plates and, if you like, drizzle additional pasta sauce on top.
